On December 24th, 10 years will have passed since I started this website. Looking back at those early days in 2009/10, it’s amazing how much the world (online and off) has changed. Back in 2009, Facebook was barely a thing, there was no Instagram, Twitter allowed only 140 characters with no pics or GIFs and websites were still the main tool for connecting audiences and fans with their favorite celebrities.
As you can see, it’s been about a year since my last post on the site. For years, starting with the launch of the BP Online Facebook Page, our audience numbers have been dwindling, as was to be expected. Bronson has been easily available in other platforms, sharing his own content and interacting with fans in a much more convenient and up-to-the-minute way.
I’ve postponed a decision regarding where the site would go for the last couple of years, but I think our 10th anniversary is a great time to reach a conclusion.
What I came up with is this: Due to the costs of maintaining a domain and hosting service for the website, we will be going offline in the days after December 16th (when payment is due).
Because the website has amounted a great deal of information and material for 9 years, and some of you might want to still have access to it online, I would like to offer fans the chance to contribute with the maintenance costs of the site. My yearly costs are around U$75, and I will add a PayPal donation button to my personal account where fans can send their contributions to keep the site running. If donations don’t reach U$75 by December 16th, I will refund whatever was donated and the site will go offline.
If we can reach the amount needed, that will be enough to keep the site alive for one more year. I will also try and keep you updated with Bronson’s posts on Instagram, or whatever he may like to share with the site’s audience. The contact email will remain active as well, and messages will keep being forwarded when appropriate.
